Teairra Mari’s new single, ‘U Did Dat’, will be added to radio formats this month and as such the other aspects of her promotional campaign have been set in motion. In this behind the scenes footage of her recent studio sessions with Rico Love, the singer described the direction of her long awaited new studio album, which will hit stores later this year.
Mari signed to Love’s Division1 label on Universal Motown in August last year. Since that time, she has joined the producer on the latest season of Vh1′s ‘Love & Hip-Hop’ where they displayed their personal chemistry.
Watch the footage of the duo’s studio time below:
Hopefully, Love doesn’t give Mari a collection of recycled beats that resemble Kelly Rowland’s ‘Motivation’. He is a talented producer but similar to most of the hit-makers of the last decade – Timbaland, Missy Elliott and The Neptunes – he has a tendency to be redundant.
Trent, you already know that Rico is going to give Teairra something similar to Motivation because it was a hit. It’s up to Teairra to push him to give her something fresh. Rico has been really redundant lately but no one as of late has called him on it. The day that someone he works with calls him on it will be the day that he does something new.
he is redundant as hell but im excited to hear her new work
