As reported earlier today, Kelly Rowland attended the Keep Memory Alive foundation’s Power of Love Gala last evening to celebrate Muhammad Ali’s 70th birthday. During the annual event, the singer saluted one of her fallen idols, Whitney Houston, by covering the diva’s version of ‘The Greatest Love of All’ alongside Stevie Wonder.
However, this wasn’t the first occasion where Rowland has paid homage to an artist who influenced her. She also performed for Mariah Carey at the 2012 BET Honors and delivered an exciting rendition of ‘Fantasy’ with rapper Raekwon.
Watch Rowland’s impressive performance of ‘Greatest’ below:
aa… the lizard appreciates kelly now???
This bitch is getting her shit together and I am not mad….. Not. Mad. At. Allllll!
At LAST!!!!!
Kelly has been sounding really good lately.
“The lizard” appreciates when someone SINGS and explores their full potential. Kelly has been doing that recently (she must be inspired by Mariah – given the opportunity to sing for her at the BET Honours, and of course Whitney).
I didn’t think Kelly could sing a Whitney Houston song but
she fouled me. She not only sing that song, she sang!!!
She can’t sing to me.
Something about her voice just doesn’t sit well with me
Wow Kelly! Look at you! That was a really good job!
Great job.
She may have accepted Mariah’s request to sing for her at the BET Honors . But like she’s been saying for the last 15 years , Whitney was her favorite artist and ultimate influence , like she’s been to most of the succesful singers of today .
…But don’t worry , i’m sure Rihanna will be delighted to re-visit her vibrant & heartfelt rendition of Hero .
@Tahj M Shade heffa Shade!!!!! lol!!!! “heartfelt renditon”!!!!
*rendition
wow, she sounds so goood.
Whitney wasn’t an artist, she was just a singer
