Did you know that Ciara has not scored a #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 since her debut single?

Ciara’s debut single, ‘Goodies (Ft. Petey Pablo)’, still has the distinction of being her only chart-topping song on the Hot 100. Coincidentally, her debut album of the same name is also her best-selling album in the US and has been certified triple platinum by the RIAA.

Including ‘Goodies’, Ciara has thus far landed 8 top 10 singles on the Hot 100 – 5 as a lead performer and 3 as a featured act. Notably, her highest-charting tracks after ‘Goodies’ were also from her debut album – both ’1, 2 Step (Ft. Missy Elliott)’ and ‘Oh (Ft. Ludacris)’ peaked at #2 on the listing. Finally, she has yet to nab a top 10 single without the assistance of a featured artist.

   Trent, did you know that during the whole year 2004, the year “Goodies” went #1, only Black/Urban acts were able to hit the #1 spot? Now U know!

    @tim it’s not always about #1 hits. even though it’s a big accomplishment, noboy really cares about #1 singles. It wasn’t until stans joined twitter that people started paying attention to #1 singles.

    #1 singles aren’t that important. I learned (in a previous music minute) that Jay-Z has no number one singles, excluding songs where he was just a featured act. So the fact that she has no number one singles doesn’t mean that she’s not a good artist.

    That being said, she’s not a good artist…which is why she only has 1 #1 single.
