Did you know that today is the 10th anniversary of Brandy’s ‘Full Moon’ album?
‘Full Moon’ was released in the US on March 5th 2002. Certified platinum by the RIAA, the record generated 2 top 20 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including ‘What About Us?’ and the title tack, which peaked at #7 and #18, respectively.
Additionally, despite receiving generally mixed reviews from critics, ‘Full Moon’ also earned Brandy her 10th Grammy Award nomination; her first nod in the Best Contemporary R&B Album category. The inconsistent response from reviewers and fans to the record was often attributed to the maturation of Brandy’s contralto voice and the fact that she performed the majority of the material album with darker/huskier vocals as opposed to the lighter soprano of her her previous works.

THIS is what I twirl for! Full Moon is her best album. And her live performances murk the album. Her raspy dark vocals are what threw this album into the stratosphere….
Definitely one of my all time favorites.
Best r&b album ever! She definitely should have rereleased it for the anniversary. That album was too ahead of it’s time. Regular folks couldn’t appreciate it.
Best…Brandy CD…EVER!!!
OH i remember this video. She was preggers and hiding in the video. I love this song.
The Vocal bible to rnb. Best RnB album made ever!
This album changed my perspective of what R&B music was and is. I haven’t heard anything like it.
This was one of my favs but when I found out she faked the marriage it ruined it a little for me.
For some reason I’ve never been into Brandy much except for “The boy is mine” and “Afrodisiac” but that song is really good. Even though she isn’t an artist i listen to much it’s obvious that she’s really tallented and underrated. I hope her next album does well.
i love this album too! one of my main reasons why i luv her! my fav cut was “What About”
