Rihanna was back to her old habits in the May issue of ELLE magazine – stirring up controversy by talking about Chris Brown. Indeed, despite her musical reunion with her former boyfriend, the vixen once again addressed the domestic abuse that lead to their messy public breakup.
Yet, Rihanna claims that the event, which she claims resulted in her liberation, she will do whatever she wants and that includes reconciling the Brown. In case you haven’t heard the radio or read the blogs lately, she did just that with her song ‘Birthday Cake’ and the remix to his ‘Turn Up the Music’ single.
Read what Rihanna had to say about Brown in ELLE magazine below:
On her breakup with Chris Brown: “It gave me guns. I was like, well, fuck. They know more about me than I want them to know. It’s embarrassing. But that was my opening. That was my liberation, my moment of bring it. […] Now you know that, so you can say what you want about it. I don’t have anything to hide.”
On the backlash over their reconciliation:
“The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently. It’s very hard for me to accept, but I get it. People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that’s all right. Because tomorrow I’m still going to be the same person. I’m still going to do what I want to do.”Read more on ELLE.
why are they still talking about this in 2012 is there nothing else interesting about her?…tired of this shit.
All i can say is DUMBASS Girl!!!
@Ugh: That’s what the tabloids/ media do. Once something big and controversial happens to a celebrity they have an everlasting fascination with it and will continue to bring it up/ milk it time and time again regardless of the fact that the event may have occurred 10 years ago! (See: Mariah – “Glitter” and her ‘breakdown’) It’s annoying really. I can’t even begin to imagine how celebs feel. Like no one cares anymore. Get over it. It’s like if someone were to constantly bring up something that happened in your first year of high school or something when you’re 30.
Sidenote: For Rihanna though, it’s still a hot topic b/c both Chris and her are still experiencing the repercussions of the incident i.e. restraining orders, court visits, etc., not to mention that they revived media attention via the collabs. All in all, if Rihanna stops associating herself with him, it will slowly die down (not completely), but for Chris it will be in the back of people’s minds for a while so he can’t really escape from it. That sucks but it was a really messed up and inexcusable thing that he did.
Forever talking about what happened 3 years ago. Did we learn something new in this interview? No. I wish journalists would ask better questions and that Rihanna would stop answering these questions. I’m tired of it really.
What about him doing what he wants to do 0_0 …?
She is fierce…. hottest in the game
Her liberation? Yes, because it makes a lot of sense to work now with the person who once kept you as a “prisoner”. What a lame argument.
Both Chris & Rihanna need help. ASAP.
And let the games begin…. New album New hair… Same old BS… Oh what a PR dream… Why fix it if it ain’t broke… Just Sad.. but whatever… enjoy it while it last
TBH doesn’t she have other projects to talk abt like her movie role and her next goal winning the Oscar before Beyonce if she gets Whitney’s role
Trent I dare say it was the interviewer tat brought it up. Not Rihanna. U know that as well as I do
