Ashanti’s ‘BraveHeart’ Delayed Again

Ashanti’s ‘BraveHeart’ album has been pushed back yet again. The record, which had already been delayed once this year, will now be released in late August; more than two months from its previous June 19th due date.

‘BraveHeart’ will arrive in stores on August 28th. The album, which is preceded by the failed single ‘The Woman You Love’ featuring Busta Rhymes, was initially set for release on April 17th but it was pushed back to June 19th. However, with mounting competition from Justin Bieber, who will also put forward his ‘Believe’ LP on that day, Ashanti has opted for a change of schedule.

‘The Woman You Love’ has yet to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, despite numerous live performances of the tune by Ashanti. She has yet to announce a followup single for ‘BraveHeart’ or any plans for further promotion of the project.

Perhaps Ashanti is hoping to score a #1 debut on the Billboard 200 with ‘BraveHeart’ or simply needs more time to plan the promotional strategy for record, but these multiple delays will damage consumer confidence in the project. Indeed, each push back lessens people’s interest in the record and weakens her chances of landing the comeback that she needs.

Is running her own label drawing Ashanti too thin? If that is the case then she needs to decide if she wants to be a business leader or a recording artist because she is clearly having trouble doing both.

   The delay is a good decision, No one outside of her tiny stan base know she’s even coming out with an album. She needs to give more public appearances, showcase more songs etc. Right now i’m looking at her as if she’s an a brand new artist, she needs to re-establish herself. Not to say she needs a number one single but she need to i do some some live sessions, cover some popular song, get people to acknowledging her again.

   Yup, that cover looks like someone who’s trying but lacks the budget, No shade. She should go simple and classic, the current cover is attempting Epic but its composition is saying no.

   @olly_tei couldn’t agree with you more. She has been gone too long and needs more promotion. She needs to release more singles to get people excited again. That one song isn’t enough…Chris and Usher have done it and fans are anticipating their album arrivals.

   The independent thing just doesn’t seem to be her thing. All of these artists screaming independent actually lose money alot trying to branch off.
