New Song: LaTocha – ‘Complicated (Ft. Wale)’

The single cover of LaTocha's new song, 'Complicated'.

Do you remember the 1990s girl group Xscape and their powerful lead singer, LaTocha? Well, she is back in the spotlight with a mixtape, ‘Truth ‘N the Booth’, which is preceded the her new song, ‘Complicated (Ft. Wale)’.

‘Complicated’ was written by Chef Tone and Lundon. The full ‘Truth ‘N the Booth’ mixtape will debut later this summer. Listen to ‘Complicated’ below:

LaTocha is such a brilliant singer! Her tone, runs and restraint at just the right moments are simply impeccable. I am beyond excited to hear what she has to offer on ‘Truth ‘N the Booth’ because with so many R&B singers crafting weak material, she can help to revive the now lackluster genre.

   Almost 20 years in the game & the voice is still just as strong!!!!! I can here this track all over the radio & wale gave the perfect verse ( & i don’t even like him like that) so glad to hear someone who can actually SANG on a track.    I love this song and Latocha. If you haven’t heard her first single “Bad Timing” go ahead and purchase it on Itunes. Her voice is INCREDIBLE!! She’s also down to earth.

   No lie, the song is descent (vocally), and Wale provide great background rap vocals. He isn’t a ‘standout’, but he doesn’t surpass her either. I like the song, I just HATE hearing about all these graveling on the ground women singing about bums in love. PLEASE take us higher Latocha, you’ve been in the game long enough to expand the lyrical content!

   trent as much as u get on my nerves(in a good way) im so happy that u love tocha like i do!! i said in xscape videos that she is one of the BEST I ever heard with the runs, and my favorite singer from xscape. I wish they could look past their differences and get back together. but tocha still got it.

   This is what we need! Hope this can change the current state of music and that people will be inspired to go back to that golden period of R&B that really fizzled out in 2008. Classic music is timeless and survives any era and I think LaTocha will bring some amazing music our way. Super talented!
