Did you know that Rihanna’s ‘Only Girl (In the World)’ made history on the Billboard Hot 100?
During the week of November 25th 2010, ‘Only Girl’ – the lead single from Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ album – topped the Hot 100 after its followup, ‘What’s My Name? (Ft. Drake)’, had already climbed to the chart’s peak. That was the first time history that an album’s lead single landed atop the Hot 100 after the second release.
‘Only Girl’ became Rihanna’s ninth chart-topping single on the Hot 100. To date, she has scored a total of eleven #1 songs on the chart. Watch the video for ‘Only Girl’ below:

The “Only Girl” music video always reminded me of the Goofy Movie opening (in Max’s dream).
The fact that this girl has more number ones that Beyonce is disturbing to me on so many levels (and I’m no Beyonce stan). That goes to show the state of music and how it has taken a major shift in the last decade or so. I am so glad that I grew up during the times of Whitney Houston, Patti Labelle, Anita Baker, Gladys Knight, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Tamia, Jewel, Alanis Morrisette just to name a few. They were what I considered vocalists. The time when it didn’t involve scandal and controversy to sell an album. These women were world changers and game changers. Each and everyone of these women touched peoples hearts in some form or fashion, and made us want to achieve something in life. Sadly, we have turned back to the Milli Vanilli days, where music is not of quality anymore, and people don’t have to know how to sing to get a record deal. Just be a preteen and willing to sell sex and your promised fame and stardom and the wealth to go with it. So sad, so sad.

Preach Kayla, I do like rihanna but she could have a million number ones but still wouldn’t match that talents of celine, Mariah, Whitney etc

Beyonce’s albums are better (not including RIh’s GGGB) but Rihanna drops better singles, which explains why she has so many hits.

I am in no way shape or form a Beyonce stan. I really don’t even see what the hype is in that girl, honestly. I think that Beyonce is a good performer, I will give her that. But I will say this, she is a better vocalist than Rihanna, and that is no secret. Heck, Brandy, Keysia Cole, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Jordan Sparks are better vocalists than Rihanna. I compared her to Beyonce, because Beyonce and Rihanna are two of the biggest acts out now. Isn’t that so? You folks love to throw out that word “hating.” You just said you move right along from a Gaga post, right? So then by your own logic you are hating on Gaga. So if stating that these women and so many other are better vocalist than Rihanna is considered hating, then I will be a hater all day. So don’t hate the player, hate the game. I’m just saying’!!!
