Bennett’s ‘Duets II’ entered the the Billboard 200 at #1 when he was 85 years of age during the week of September 28th 2011 and broke the previous record set by Bob Dylan, who was 67 years of age when his ‘Together Through Life’ album topped the chart in 2009. Amazingly, ‘Duets II’ was Bennett’s first #1 album on the ranking!
Additionally, when Bennett’s collaboration with Amy Winehouse, ‘Body & Soul’, landed at #87 on the Hot 100, it made him the eldest living to artist notch an entry on the lineup. Watch the video for the song below:
