Rihanna Announces Mysterious 2012 MTV VMA Performance

Don’t act as though you didn’t see this news coming from a mile away. The industry’s current dominant Pop star, Rihanna, has officially announced that she will hit the stage at the 2012 MTV VMA with her auto-tuned mic, high fashion outfits and troop of dancers, yet what will she perform?
Rihanna has been working on a new LP for months and she has consistently stuck to the annual Thanksgiving sales period as the time to release her albums, so many speculate that she will debut a new song at the 2012 MTV VMA. In fact, with her most recent single, ‘Where Have You Been’, prepared to exit the Billboard Hot 100, this will be the prime time for Rihanna to launch a new project.
Still, until such reports are confirmed, I’ll just assume that Rihanna will perform a medley of her recent hits and bask in the applause of people who don’t even care about music. Thankfully, the lineup of the 2012 MTV VMA, which airs on September 6th at 8pm ET, also includes Alicia Keys, Pink, Taylor Swift and Green Day so we won’t be completely bored.

Why would this woman release an album this year? I mean really Rihanna. Take a year or two off and then release a new album or you will burn yourself out. And why is Trent always labeled as a hater??? I mean really, if you placed Rihanna on stage with the top 10 female artists out today and they all took turns singing, would you hit the buzzard and turn your chair around after listening to Rihanna’s vocals? Rihanna is not the best singer and if people say it why is it that her fans always come out ready to attack you for your opinion? Rihanna is talented and entertaining but if your opinion is that she lacks great vocal ability then its YOURS to have.
I wanna know what Rihanna did to get the unnecessary hate. The girl sings live (unlike Mariah and those high notes from.the 90s she uses), she is dancing and has hot music. WHYB was a top 10 hit and sold plenty of copies unlike triumphant. Speaking of which.when is that gonna debut on the hot 100?
Finally, a reason to watch the VMAs…Rihanna will slay and take home the biggest award of the night!

@Yeah, Did you know that Mariah carey’s last album is tied with Rih’s LOWEST SELLING ALBUM. Rih had 2 singles, how many did MOORIAH, she is a flop and her voice sounds like cassie’s, her fans go on about her high notes but they are not impressive because her voice is already irritatingly high.

Rihanna loves Mooriah! When she auditioned in Barbados for the producers she sang “Hero” and “Emotions” Ironically, the producers preferred Rihanna’s cover of HERO because it actually had EMOTIONS.

The fact that you’re contrasting her to Rihanna as if she were a Lady GaGa says a lot. Even if Mariah doesn’t move as many records as she used to, she’s managed to sustain her name enough, 22 years on, to be compared to pop tarts half her age. I know you’re a pebble brain twelve year old so I won’t go into any intellectual depth, but the fact that you’ve taken the exhausting task to list Rihanna’s “talents” proves that all your senses have been impaired by the bottomless stupidity that is Rihanna’s claimed “music”. Please direct me to a professional objective critique that anoints Rihanna as a “talent”. Please inform me of a “best of” list that includes Rihanna. Please send me a photograph of a “best vocalist” award that Rihanna has received. The fact of the matter remains – Rihanna is nothing more than a smoke-and-mirrors gimmick, reliant on microwaved, disposable and substance-less pop music. You can argue, yell and shout all you please, but you’ll only look even worse than Rihanna does on stage. How many years is Rihanna into her industry-manufactured career? 7-8? At that point in Mariah’s career she was already receiving life achievement accolades, and releasing greatest hits collections. Everything that Mariah does from now on is purely for the fans – icing on the cake. She can sit back, feet up, be fed grapes by Nick Cannon and fanned by her twins using palm tree leaves for the rest of her life and bathe in her $500 million fortune she built largely from her classic music – All I Want for Christmas is You, Hero, We Belong Together are only snippets of the music that continues to rotate in public consciousness. I dare you to walk along the sidewalk and as the next person to do so much as whistle a note from one of Rihanna’s “hits”. When this second coming of disco ends, so does Rihanna and her equally talentless peers, LMFAO, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Justin Bieber, etc.
