Sales Predictions: Trey Songz’s ‘Chapter V’ Set For Top Spot

Get your Scooby Snacks ready because congratulations are in store for Trey Songz. Indeed, the howler, who has been inescapable during the last few days while promoting ‘Chapter V’, has more than two reasons to celebrate as the record is projected to become his first #1 album on the Billboard 200.

‘Chapter V’ is on course to sell 125K-130K copies and easily notch the top slot on the Billboard 200 next week as Songz’s first chart-topping set. However, the first week sales of the LP represent a stark decline from those of his previous effort, ‘Passion, Pain & Pleasure’, which sold 240K when it debuted at #2 in September 2010.

‘Passion, Pain & Pleasure’ remains Songz’s best-selling album in the US with sales exceeding 842K. He has yet to nab a platinum-certified LP in that territory, and both ‘Passion, Pain & Pleasure’ and its ‘Ready’ predecessor are certified gold.

   This chapter V album is a step up from the PPP album in my opinion. He has more songs that are not based on sex which makes this album better. This album goes from play-skip-play to just play when you get to track 9 (Pretty Girls Lie) down to the last track outro Chapter V (not including the bonus tracks). Favorite tracks – Fumble, Without A Woman, Simply Amazing, Never Again, Pretty Girls Lie & Bad Decisions.
   Not so favorite tracks – 2 Reasons, Hail Mary, Ladies Go Wild
   This is a solid effort from Trey but if you are a new fan of his music (like myself) and you are judging the album based on the singles released thus far they can deter you from purchasing the album. I wanted to get the album to hear it for myself and I would rate it: B-

   No pop crossover single and he got that much. Usher had a top 10 pop hit with similar sales. I really dont know whats wrong with the music industry

   “Ready” has sold more than “PPP” correction. It’s almost at a million units sold, therefore that can be considered for a platinum certification.

   none of his albums has sold over a million therefore he not considered a multi platinum artist duhh if it aint a mill yet it a platinum and thats it

   I feel like , Trey Songz is a progressing artist and every album is making progress . Im a true fan so I can judge , but if you dont got nothing good to say .. KEEP YOUR FUCKING OPINIONS TO YUR SELF , THEY LIKE TOUNGES KEEP THEM IN YOUR MUTHAFUCKING MOUTH !!
