Fresh from his debut ‘Saturday Night Live’ performances, Frank Ocean surprised his fans with the release of his new video for ‘Pyramids’. Directed by Nabil Elderkin and featuring John Mayer, who also shared the ‘SNL’ stage with Ocean last evening, the visual is the latest offering from the ‘channel ORANGE’ project.
Thus far, ‘channel ORANGE’ has sold a modest 295K copies in the US since being released on July 17th. Hopefully, this ‘Pyramids’ video will have a greater effect on the LP’s sales than his convenient hinting of bisexuality. Watch the visual below:
There is no question that this ‘Pyramids’ video is visually stunning, despite boarding on a strange form of ‘True Blood’ styled porn, and packed with enough Illuminati references to make even Kanye West blush. Will the song itself be a hit on radio? Perhaps but I’d personally prefer if Ocean didn’t try to bore us to death with a performance of it on another television show.
yes,yes,yes!!!
wow…i adore this song. i think the first half of the song is also excellent, i’m surprised he didn’t include it — especially because it seems like his only cut that might make the pop charts.
still, i’m happy about this!!!
HIS LIVE PERFORMANCES = *YAWN* YOU DONT HEAR TOO MUCH ABOUT HIM ANYMORE, SINCE HE “CAME OUT OF THE CLOSET”
Visually, this is one the best videos I’ve seen in a minute
……thumbz-up and credit due for the video. But the song, no. The music world is already flooded, with these type of artists, nothing new or original
