Hot Pic: Beyonce & Miguel Hit The Studio

Written by Trent | Filed under Beyonce,Miguel

    Beyonce and Miguel

Beyonce has a reputation for tapping the most creative people in the industry to write songs for her to claim as her own and last weekend she struck again. This time, the singer teamed with the dominant Urban radio artist of both 2011 and 2012, Miguel.

When news first broke that Beyonce had been selected at Super Bowl XLVII in February 2013, many began to wonder if new music would be a part of her setlist. Well, the chances of that are now greater, especially as she has bowed out of filming ‘A Star is Born’ to focus on the development of a new album.

The exact number of commas that Beyonce added to her song with Miguel has yet to be determined. Until we figure that out, listen ‘I Miss You’, which was written for her by Frank Ocean from her ’4′ album, below:

I think you should watch the interview with Ne-Yo when he said if you write the background vocals and come up with a medley you get a writing credit. So those ooooo and ahhhhhs gives her a credit.

That sounds like vocal arrangement to me, but I’m sleep. Anywho, you people need to know what a songwriter is. A songwriter is an individual who writes songs. Ooooo and ahhhhhs are not lyrics to a song; they are ablibs.

And there a point in time where Ne-Yo said she didn’t write Irreplaceable at all.

She may not write a huge portion of the song but whether its right or not, even changing ONE word is considered a co-write. Doesn’t she help with the vocal arrangements too? Well that’s not writing the actual song but its still creating it I suppose..

Vocal arrangements and writing song lyrics are two completely different things.

I know. I pointed that out. I wasn’t defending her, I was just saying that even putting in one word is a co-write.

Call her a theif, I call her smart!!! If adding a couple “and”s and “the”s allowing you rights over publishing then I would do the exact same thing… This just gives her rights over her records for the future!!!!

You’re right! I think about it, why didn’t Diane Warren give Beyonce a writing credit for her added “and’s” & “the’s”? Ms. Warren is a legend in the game and she wasn’t about to give Beyonce credit for a song she did not write. This is why Beyonce always works with the young, up and coming song writers so she can get that publishing. Smart, sneaky bitch!

I love how she keeps ignoring these younger crappy artists who keep refering her as their dream collab and she only allows real talents to get near her ( I hope she continues ) … I’m a Miguel fan, he’s amazingly gifted vocally, and he’s a lyrical genius, so i’m excited about that !

Trey Songz, Nicki Minaj, Young Jeezy, Ke$ha, etc… They can ALL continue to do interviews talking about her… and work with older female artists in need of relevancy as a consolation prize.

Trey Songz has worked with Gerald Levert, Patti Labelle, Aretha Franklin, and R. Kelly. He went on tour with Jay-Z and he performed with Stevie Wonder. Obivously he’s talented enough to those artists I just named.

And let’s not get carried away by calling Miguel a lyrical genius. He’s talented, but Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, and Stevie Wonder are geniuses, NOT MIGUEL.

It really amazes me, that people are actually defending Beyonce’s balant theft. If she were anybody else, she would be taken off to jail.

I don’t care what Ne-Yo says, If I worte a song by myself, there’s no way in hell I would give somebody a co-writing credit because they added a few “oooo’s” and “ahhh’s.”

She also did the melody, which is considered part of the songwriting.

She has never claimed she wrote “I Miss You” tho. She always gave Frank Ocean full credits for this song. Her name is on it because she worked on the vocal arrangement.

Then her name should be placed on the vocal arrangement credits, not songwriting/ composer credits.

Thats a smart move to have a writing credit for any artist. the actual writer is listed first so they get their royalty check, but it still gives the singer some control over their music. that’s how alot of older artist got screwed back in the day. the producers and song writers are rich, putting songs on soundtracks, video games, greatest hit albums, and the artist who made the song a hit is broke or trying to tour to make money. Im Pretty sure Neyo and The Dream got a good check from the singles they wrote and are still getting checks but Bey worked her ass off to promote them. (EX TLC got screwed on their Fan Mail Album)

The shit is dishonest. If the bitch wants royalties for song writing, then the bitch need to write her own songs. I am a fan of Beyonce’s work but she is one sneaky little bitch, making these young clueless song writers sign over a percentage of their publishing to her. Whitney Houston was able to live be sucessful(more sucessful than Beyonce if you ask me) without having to lie about songwriting. If Mariah Carey, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and a whole slew of other entertainers can write a song, bitch what is your issue? Is Beyonce just lazy?
People like to compare her to Michael Jackson but he actually wrote many of his hits and never claimed credit for songs he did not write and compose. Someone needs to lets B know, singing on a song is not producing and ad-lib’s and extra vocal runs is not songwriting.
