The US charts have been printed and as usual, they depict a mix of up and downs. This week, Brandy’s ‘Two Eleven’ album finally impacted the Billboard 200 and despite scoring a top 5 slot on the lineup, the sales were far from impressive. On the other hand, Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds’ shined extra bright on the Billboard Hot 100.
‘Two Eleven’ debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 with sales of 65K copies, representing an 8K dip from the 73K sold by Brandy’s last album, ‘Human’, when it entered the lineup in 2008. None of the singles from ‘Two Eleven’ have cracked the top 40 of the Hot 100, although Brandy performed on several television shows during the last couple weeks.
Meanwhile, Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds’ continued to gain momentum on the Hot 100 this week. The record launched into the top 10 to become the Barbadian’s 23rd such hit since her ‘Pon de Replay’ debut in 2005. Ke$ha still leads the race to the top of the Hot 100, though, as jumped to #5 on the chart.

hopefully she’ll aim 4 gold b4 moving in to the next album like everyone else. she can at least go gold.
wow, jason aldean did very well for this music climate
He is a country artist, of course he would do well.
Adele is STILL in the top 10? Shit! lol
Thats still a good look for Bran. Hopefully it will do better with all her promo.
Even though this is a slow start I think word of mouth for Two Eleven will go far, so look out for her to be in the top 10 for a least a couple more weeks….
Poor Brandy. Hope her album has legs. Yaaaas to by girl Rihanna! ! I’m still not here for that sing being classified as R&B but I’m glad it’s a hit.
Brandy, girl, I know you read the blogs. I’m rooting for you. This is just the beginning. Your albums never start off doing well. I have faith in this era. R&b needs you. Keep ya head up.
Brandy deserves so much more. hopefully sales will increase significantly
surprised at Rihanna accomplishing this without a video. that seems rare these days, no?
I have a feeling her sales will increase. This is not the end!
Also, I can’t believe that RIDICULOUS ‘Gangnam Style’ is still in the charts smh.
Flop
This is what you call a flop? She put it down but NOBODY fell in love. She died just like her idol! Oh and btw even Monica’s New Life first weeks sold 69,500… This is really DEAD on Arrival!
Sandra Rose…is that you, bitch? Get ya life.
Brandy will be fine. More than likely the album will be steady. It’s about consistency.
3 flops in a row. Put a fork in her, she’s done.
I don’t like how people already call this a flop, If you do your research Brandy never goes out big int he first week. The biggest she has ever done in first week sales was Never Say Never and that was only about 155,000 in the first week I think and that was in the 90′s! This album will stay consitently in the top 10 and she will have a platinum record. You wait and see, it won’t be gold it will be platinum. Word of mouth is the best advertisement. Yea you’ll have some that get a burned copy but people will go an buy it. The album is that good. I think the song “With Out You” will take her to the next level its R&B, POP, and even a little Country. Don’t count her out yet, slow and steady wins the race.
You can’t determine a flop by first week sales. Look at Miguel’s last album. Look at Brandy’s never say never album. Less than 200,000 in first week and now more than 4 million. Brandy is one of the top ten best selling r&b acts in r&b with no big first week sales. The album is awesome, so that alone makes it successful.
Brandy will be fine. Wildest Dreams video should be premiering any day now and that will boost sales. This album is really good and people will buy once they notice.
Flop! The album is boring, the sales are low, and they will continue to decline (actually they already are). Interesting how ppl talked much shit about Monica’s New Life, but it sold 5k more than 2/11 and remains 2012′s top R&B/soul album by a female artist. Lol
True!
3 flops in a row!
I wanted to see what the headlines for her sales would be on this website, when Monica’s “New Life” debut with higher numbers than this, the headline was something about “Dead on arrival….” but with this bullshit ass two eleven you say “starts slow” bitch please, she is DONE!!! But i understand that she is your fave, so reach bitch, reach
