Alicia Keys’ ‘Brandy New Me’ single cover

When Alicia Keys performed at the 2012 iTunes Festival, she debuted a new song called ‘Brand New Me’ live onstage. Now, we finally get the chance to hear the studio version of the record, which was co-written by the incredibly talented Emeli Sande.

Keys explained the concept of ‘Brandy New Me’ during an interview AOL’s The Boombox. “[This song] is about the journey it takes to get to a place where you are proud to be a new you. There is nothing wrong with growing! There may be people in your life that knew you for a long time and they think of you only as the person you used to be and not the person you now are!”

On November 27th, Keys will release her ‘Girl on Fire’ album in the US. Until then, listen to ‘Brand New Me’ below:

   A song that is in a key she can maintain………..praise his light. I like this 1. But honey u gotta a whole lot of selling me this album cuz i still don’t feel too great about it. Love that emeli co-wrote this! Very talented.

   This is the HOTNESS. She needed this! Even though I liked the live version better. I enjoy the production on this.

   This is the Alicia Keys I love, not the big drums shouting one. Lyrics actually make sense and they’re pretty deep She needs to keep it intimate instead of epic.
