Ne-Yo claims that his ‘R.E.D.’ album caters to both his R&B and Pop music fans but it is obvious which group has his favour. The crossover singer has released a new video for the record’s latest single, which is the club-ready anthem, ‘Forever Now’.
Earlier this month, ‘R.E.D.’ debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart with a humble 66K copies sold – the lowest opening week sales of his career to date. The album has since fallen out of the top 20 of the lineup. Watch the video for ‘Forever Now’ below:
This is actually a good video with a discernible plot. However, even a Michael Jackson-styled production can’t make us overlook the fact that ‘Forever Now’ is generic Dance music. In a time when R&B needs talented acts to boost the genre, it’s a shame that Ne-Yo treats it as an after thought.
