The ‘We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston’ special finally aired this evening. Filmed at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, the show included performances by a range of acts who celebrated the legacy of one of music’s greatest divas.
Among the stars who paid tribute to Houston were Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, who appeared to be miming her set, Usher, Yolanda Adams and Cece Winans. Watch all of the performances from the ‘Grammy Salute’ below:

Well, she presented. No need for her singing…i love Britney but let’s be real. It’s Whitney frickin houston not Janet or Madonna. I think it’s kind of shady that they had her open the ceremony. Again, I love Britney but they had similar situation. Kevin was to Britney what Bobby to Whitney but Britney survived it…IDK maybe I’m reading into it too much but they could have had her present later on.

You all need to realize that most of the artist do…it’s just the ones that can’t really sing well get the flack for it. Celine, Barbra, Beyonce and Mariah have lipped plenty of times. I only remember Whitney lipping a few times (most notably around 1994/5 she had a special and she had the nerve to drink water through one song while it was still going). Most good singers and Janet (shade) use pre-record vocals to make it sound live so that they are not doing the entire song using their instrument…it needs to be preserved…especially on tour.
Barbra has NEVER lipped.
And Whitney never had a special in 1994 where she drank water while the track was still going on. So whatever you’re talking about must’ve happened in an alternate reality.
I love the fact at least one of the vocal trinity was present to pay tribute to to Whitney — Celine. She sang beautifully. I wished Mariah and Xtina could’ve been present to sing too. Perhaps even a new vocal powerhouse who has been the only singer to pay Whitney’s material any justice — Charice

This was such a beautiful tribute. People need to get over it. When I say Whitney, Mariah and Celine were the last true huge ones is for a reason (and not only when it comes to sales, that´s obvious too). You just watched Celine stole the show with a voice way out of her vocal prime (1995-2000), like Whitney or Mariah Celine´s voice is not what it was 15 years ago but damn she is still better than the rest in this tributes
And yes it was prerecorded. But she demonstrated she can when she did that little “Saving all my love for you” part during her beautiful speech. She´s first class, like Mariah is. Others may be good but they are minidivas compared to them (yes all those who debuted after 1995-2000. Don´t want to give names
Celine dion is the Queen of lip syncing. She’s been doing it for over 15 years. Go on youtube and research. This was a nice tribute overall.

I hate how fickle humans are. We sit around judging people and calling them flops but when they die we want to lavish them with praise and adulation. How unfortunate!
