Aside from the controversy regarding her personal life, Fantasia has been absent from the limelight for over two years. However, the fiery entertainer is finally planning to return to the music scene with a new album in 2013 and it will feature a different sound that her fans may not expect.
Fantasia will issue her next studio album by March 2013. Influenced by the work of Queen, Elton John, Aerosmith, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, the record has been described by the lady herself as Rock/Soul. As stated by Fantasia, this new project is about claiming her artistic freedom.
Released in August 2010, Fantasia’s previous album, ‘Back to Me’, has thus far sold just under 500K copies in the US. The record earned Fantasia a Grammy Award nomination for the Best R&B Album title in 2011.

Yay! I’m glad she’s ditching the generic R&B sound of today.
Yaaaas Fanny! Her last album was amazing! Rock soul suits her voice.
good for her, atleast it wont be another cliche album singing “you did me wrong” “im nothing without you” etc over an uninspired r&b beat
I hope it’s a light rock and soul album like Amy Winehouse sound.
I’m ready for new music from Fantasia she always BRINGS IT!
I’m here for this!!! Thank God I have good music to look forward to next year
