Rebecca Ferguson only recently released the video for her new UK single, ‘Glitter & Gold’, but she has already put forward another tune. ‘Backtrack’ is the only song that will be added to the gritty songbird’s ‘Heaven’ album when it is released in the US on May 15th.
Listen to Ferguson’s ‘Backtrack’ below:
Ferguson sounds fantastic on ‘Backtrack’ and strikingly similar to Aretha Franklin circa 1993. Additionally, although the tune has a similar arrangement to Little Jackie’s ‘The World Should Revolve Around Me’, there is an undeniably refreshing quality to it that makes it quite addictive.
There is nothing stopping Ferguson from being a major star in the US. She has the talent and the material to follow in the footsteps of Adele and Amy Winehouse, and all she needs is the right marketing.
