The Lava Lizard’s Burning Up is back with yet another round of new talent! This week, our focus is on R&B singer Eric Bellinger, who has already gathered a following for his work as a songwriter with several artists, including Usher, Nelly, Chris Brown, JoJo, Brandy and Jennifer Hudson.
Among the songs penned by Bellinger fare Usher’s ‘Lemme See (Ft. Rick Ross)’ and ‘I Care for U’, Ashanti’s ‘The Woman You Love’ and Chris Brown’s ‘Say it with Me’. He also recently released his ‘Born to Sing Vol. II’ mixtape, which features a host of guest acts Tank, Christina Milian, Mario and Kevin McCall.
Watch the video for Bellinger’s ‘Green Eggs & Ham’ below:
Bellinger is a very talented singer and songwriter, and his voice is light and pure yet as a definitive R&B edge. Yes, he sounds similar to J. Holiday but he has a fresh vibe to his music, particularly because of his clever writing skills.
Hopefully, Bellinger experiments with different styles in his music. As a writer, he could give the R&B genre a much needed boost and it would amazing if he found a way to revive the elements of a young Babyface to the contemporary music scene.
