Did you know that Natalie Cole is the daughter of the late Jazz legend Nat King Cole?
Natalie was born on February 6th 1950 as the eldest child of Nat King and singer Maria Cole. When she was just a child, Natalie began recording music as a background vocalist for her father and launched her own career with her ‘Inseparable’ studio album, which included her breakthrough hit ‘This Will Be’, in 1975.
Astoundingly, Natalie’s biggest-selling album in the US is ‘Unforgettable…with Love’, which is a collection of covers of Nat King’s music and has thus far been certified 7x platinum in the US. The LP won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year at the 1992 Grammy Awards ceremony and her ‘Unforgettable’ duet with Nat King nabbed the trophy for Record of the Year as well as Best Traditional Pop Performance.
