Did you know that Leona Lewis once recorded of Minnie Riperton’s classic hit ‘Lovin’ You’?
Prior to her rise to fame on ‘The X Factor (UK)’, Lewis built a name for herself by performing at numerous talent shows and singing covers of songs by the various artists who influenced her, including Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston. Also among those songs was a recorded version of Riperton’s most memorable song, ‘Lovin’ You’.
Lewis was reportedly just 15 years of age when she recorded ‘Lovin’ You’ alongside Marley Wills, and the song showcased her rare ability to sing in the whistle register. Listen to her version of the tune below:
