Did you know that Ray Charles won seventeen competitive Grammy Awards throughout his career?
With seventeen wins to his name, Charles is currently ranked in ninth place among artists with the most Grammy wins. Among the titles that the R&B/Soul music giant earned in his career were four consecutive wins in the Best R&B Song category and one for Album of the Year.
Amazingly, one of the most successful projects of Charles’ career was his final studio album, ‘Genius Loves Company’, which was released two months after his death on June 10th 2004. The set garnered five Grammys at the 2005 ceremony, including both Record of the Year (‘Here We Go Again’ with Norah Jones) and the Album of the Year honor.
