Remember when Heather Headley stunned the blogosphere with her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” at the 2012 Royal Variety Performance? Well, the Trinidadian offered us a pleasant reminder of her vocal chops today when she belted the song live on This Morning.
Perched on a stool without a lick of auto-tune or a backtrack for added support, Headley crooned a more conservative yet still impressive version of “I Will Always Love You” on the This Morning stage. What a way to wake up with the sun in the sky, birds chirping on the breeze and a diva who can actually sing on-key.
Headley currently plays the role of Rachel Marron in the musical adaptation of The Bodyguard. Those of you born after 1995 may not know this but Houston first made the part famous in the original 1992 film, back when dinosaurs still roamed the Earth and we were in the process of discovering fire.
