Once upon a time, there was a grand diva of legend named Mariah Carey. Rarely gracing the world of mortals, she live in the heavens above as she sang amongst armies of angels. However, she ventured to lesser realms for three reasons: shopping, Hello Kitty and to remind us that she has more money than almost every Pop singer alive. Such is the case with her new “Almost Home” video.
Shot by famed directed David LaChapelle, who was momentarily allowed to breathe the same blessed air as Carey, the “Almost Home” video supports Disney’s latest blockbuster, Oz the Great & Powerful. Yet, instead of featuring similar pricey dramatics as the movie, the production merely showcases Carey walking in circles amidst scenes from the film.
Carey twirls, poses and even lifts her hands into the air as her hair flutters in the breeze of her legendary wind machine. Yes, the Great Elf of the North was in fine form as she proved that she doesn’t need a plot to make a strangely enjoyable video. Rather, she just needs to be present and pretty.
