Christina Aguilera is known for her persistent need to over-sing but at this week’s 2011 CLSA she somehow managed to use restraint. The singer, who is preparing a new album for 2012, performed several of her hits at the event, including ‘Beautiful’ and a Reggae-styled version of ‘What A Girl Wants’.
Aguilera has recently been enjoying incredible success as her duet with Maroon 5, ‘Moves Like Jagger’, has been resting atop the Billboard Hot 100 for 3 weeks. Watch Aguilera’s showing below:
Aguilera still has a lot to learn about controlling her voice but it is wonderful to see that she is finally learning that louder does not mean better. Also, she seems to have been inspired by the massive crowd response she received at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony because she is once again experimenting with her often ignored upper registers.
Perhaps, Aguilera’s conversations with Adele – her latest inspiration – have ecnouraged her to focus more on finding meaning in her material instead of screaming at people until they believe her. If that is the case then her new album could be the hit that she needs.
Thanks to Xtina-Web for the videos!
Christina is starting to look like Miss Piggy
The Voice Of This Generation! I loved “At Last”
I just saw Beautiful and I agree she definitely held back, you could barely listen to hear when she was hitting the high notes lol.
I’m not her fan but I wish her well, I just hope she gets rid of these ugly outfits she’s been wearing lately… c’mon Aguilera, you’re not from Jersey gwarl!!
Keep it up
The Voice! Her voice sounds better than when she performed at Red Rock. Plus, I want a new hairstyle and wardrobe.
typo *listen to her
Maybe it’s the quality of the videos or the quality of the sound in the arena but I’m not sure how I feel about these performances.
That outfit is horrible but I do wish her lots of success.
@Theresa Miss Peggy if she had chose a career in porn…
iHope a free gym class came with that vocal coach!
At last was Beautiful her voice seems so effortless when she sings jazz
1. She did good! i LOVE that reggae version of “What a girl wants” and it’s always great to hear the old classics
2. people commenting on her weight/wardrobe need to sit the fuck down, besides the point it should be about the music and not appearances when it comes to an artist as tallented as Xtina she’s peobably waiting for the next album era to drop the weight and get a make-over to get a bigger impact.
3. love when she does high notes, she better have some on her next album!
