Rihanna To Release New Album This Fall

Written by Trent | Filed under Rihanna

Rihanna surprised her fans earlier this month when she revealed that she started working on her sixth studio album but now, just days after her ‘Cheers (Drink To That)’ single entered the Billboard Hot 100 top 10, she has announced that the record will be released this year. In fact, the album will hit stores in the fall.

Rihanna will act as a guest mentor on the upcoming season of ‘The X Factor (US)’ and will undoubtedly use the show to cross promote her new LP. Her close friend Katy Perry, on the other hand, has chosen release another single from her ‘Teenage Dream’ album instead of progressing to a new project.

    —————————————————–

This is truly a classic case of a Pop act who is keen to capitalise on the momentum of her previous releases in an overzealous attempt to continue her popularity. Whether it is because Rihanna is desperate to keep her fickly fanbase interested by providing them with a continuous flow of material or because she understands that her success stems solely from her physical beauty, which will fade with age, has yet to be determined. Yet, this move will do nothing to solve either issue.

Rihanna needs more time to experience life and sit with a vocal coach so that she could discover the artistic depth that is glaringly missing from her catalogue. Indeed, as she advances through her career her audience will change and she will need to grow as well so that she could attract a more mature crowd.

Clearly, Rihanna’s handlers have no intention of encouraging her to discover her real potential and develop into a true artist. Rather, they are simply seeking to make the biggest impact that they can now and dispose of her by the age of 30 after she has sold 100 million ringtones. After all, empty barrels are easiest to move.

Great news! The past 3 albums she has released GGGB, Rated R and Loud, have all been quality albums. Its not like she is putting crap out, like Kesha, Britney and the likes.

And people say Beyonce is overexposed? Like… I am SO over her. Yet another album of hers that won’t debut at number one. She needs to give people time to miss her. And she needs to take time to work on writing/producing music and how to actually sing well. I will never understand how people stan for Rihanna. All I see is a pretty face.

I would like for Rihanna to sit her a$$ down. Her immaturity is going to ruin her. Like come on do her people really feel that she knees to release a new album so early. She has been so over exposed for the last year, it is sickening. You are correct Trent, but I think she will be finish way before 30, by the age of 25, she will be Britany Speared!

She may maintain her beauty. Rihanna attracts alot of fans because she is herself. She doesn’t put up a wall, she dresses nice, has fun catchy music, and she’s very relateable. She may not be the vocalist that alot of folks prefer, but she can atleast carry a tune. She does need a break though. It’s too much of her.

Um this is nothing out of the norm, artist today release new music all the time whether in the form of a Mixtape, EP, or LP. Prince would release an album sometimes twice in one year. I dont think its that serious of a subject to write a damn book about. True tea is some of you are just mad because the bitch is and will continue to slay & not going any damn were *sips tea*

The notion that she is successful “soley” because looks is simply false. Her music is good quality (for the most part), its primed for radio and her recording voice is perfect for the songs she sings, so lets not get carried away with the shade.

And on the topic of consistently bringing out album, the main reason why albums are actully stretched out so far is normally to do with tour commitments, and the opportunity to promote current albums further. She could have easily released another single from the “Loud” and it would have continued to sell well into 2012. Having said that Loud did fill a tad bit rushed to me, like she mad 3-4 hits and sthem just filled the rest of the CD with mediocrity. “Rated R” is still her best album and she took her time with that

Do yall realize that artists from the 50s, 60′s, and 70′s use to release album after album? Of course you don’t because you know nothing about music. Although she should take a break, if she wants to release another record so be it.

Didn’t your girl release 10 albums in 10 years with basically the same songs but a different melody? Not saying Rihanna has similar vocal ability but it’s hustlenomics.

That oprah gif saved my life, lmao!

And I think it’s too soon, but then again, my girl Mariah Careyw would release albums back to back like that and had the same number of albums released as Rihanna when they were both 7 seven years in the game.

Mariah write, co produced and arranged all her work. I don’t think it matters if Rihanna puts out a new album to tell if she’s “grown” as an artist, Trent.

Well…. the difference between MC releasing an album every year in the 90′s and Rihanna doing it now is that, MC show artist growth; she wrote produce/co-produce, and composed her songs/albums(Rihanna does not). Rihanna showed artistist growth on “Rated R”, but she has since regressed.

Gee Trent, sound a little pressed hun. After all, didnt Mariah do the same thing in the 90′s and most of the 00′s? Oh wait she did. I feel sorry for you Trent, because you have so much hate over her, which means she controls your life with every single move and hair change. And last I checked she’s more popular today than your girl, Bey, & Brit. So have several seats, and finish pouting about how someone you dont like is rolling in popularity and sales right now.

But no one chooses to write about the regression of Beyonce, the legend? Interesting. Rih is slaying and needs to stick with the formula she’s using now. It’s not like any of you haters are buying her albums anyway. Done and have a seat.
