Following her stunning covers of Beyonce’s ‘Crazy in Love’, Bruno Mars’ ‘Grenade’ and Rihanna’s ‘What’s My Name?’ last week, JoJo decided to perform her own renditions of songs with special meaning. The young songbird paid tribute to two of her fallen idols, Amy Winehouse and Aaliyah, by singing some of their classic tunes.
Also included on JoJo’s setlist was her own ‘Leave (Get Out)’, ‘Too Little Too Late’ and the title track of her ‘Jumping Trains’ album, which is due early next year. Furthermore, she sang her latest single, ‘Disaster’, the video for which will premiere tomorrow. She released a special sneak peek of the visual last week weekend.
Watch JoJo perform Winehouse’s ’You Know I’m No Good’ as well as Aaliyah’s ‘Are You That Somebody?’, ‘One in a Million’ and more below:
JoJo is the very definition of a versatile artist! I am hereby demanding to see her birth certificate because there is absolutely no way that she could be that talented at the age of 20 years old!
I WANNA SEE THE RECEIPTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAAHAH
well then i agree with you! she’s super talented and gorgeous as always
ps: i love her xo
I liked her two previous albuns but her mixtape FORCED me to pay attention to her. She’s so young and so amazing. Wish her the best.
This girl’s super talented. She just needs the right material to promote – I’m not a fan of her latest single but looking forward to hearing the rest of her album.
she deserves to be at the top, i was only 12 when came out and she was 13, the amount of talent i heard from her debut album was out of this world! she’s our today’s Mariah Carey and more!
*throws shoe at screen*
YAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! lil miss jojo done grew up! I love her voice.
i always loved her music, she’s so talented ! she gave me chills singing aaliyah’s songs. she has to blow up really big, hope she does with her next album !
Jojo has always been talented. It just saddens me that her label keeps pushing her into the pop tart realm when she could be a much bigger artist if she did music with soul. You don’t ever hear anybody raving about that Disaster song live or studio. But people are just raving about her R&B covers. That should tell you that she is releasing the wrong kind of music. Her voice truly shines on more soulful records. No offense Jojo, but hardly anybody wants to hear that Disaster song or any of your new pop music. Bring on the soul. I still love you though Jojo.
YAAAASSSSS! SANG!! #JumpingTrains!
RECEIPTS!!!!!
JoJo, 2012 is your YEAR!
I loooove this chick! Reciepts indeed, so much talent at only 20yrs old. Too little too late is still one of my fav tunes 5years on. Its a shame that the industry has become so diluted wit mediocrity that a talent like Jojo is overlooked. I really hope this album is the making of her!
JoJo is one of the most talented vocalists in the business. She sounds good singing pop but it is obvious that she is a child of R&B; she sounds fabulous singing it. It’s so sad that she isn’t sitting pretty at the top of the charts where she belongs. And her guitarist is really good also.
im supporting her no matter what. shes been thru hell, and shes still fighting, more than 7 albums worth of songs have been leaked, her album pushed back, but my girls still fighting. not gonna lie was kina upset she changed her style, and her r’n'b is always gonna be the best, but disaster is amazing
@Stoney-Brie: “she’s our today’s Mariah Carey and more!”
JoJo is great, really talented and very underrated but RELAX.
