Did you know that Mary J. Blige’s ‘Family Affair’ remains her only #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100?
Ascending to the #1 spot on the Hot 100 during the week of November 3rd 2001, ‘Family Affair’ held the peak position on the chart for six weeks. The song had such a major impact that it was ranked as the 12th most successful tune on the Hot 100 during the 2000-2009 decade and 79th on the list of top-performing singles of the 1958-2008 period.
However, Blige has yet to return to the summit of the Hot 100. Her other highest-charting singles were ‘Not Gon’ Cry’ and ‘Runaway Love’ – a Ludacris song on which she was featured – both of which peaked at #2.
