As a result of horrendous promotion, the world has long forgotten about Melanie Fiona’s ‘The MF Life’ album. Yet, the underrated singer refuses to give up hope and released a new video for her latest single, ‘Change the Record’, to recharge interest in her project.
To date, ‘The MF Life’ has sold less than 250K copies in the US. All of the singles have failed to enter the Billboard Hot 100 and the only top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart was ’4 AM’, which climbed to #8.
Watch the video for Fiona’s ‘Change the Record’ below:
It’s such a shame that Fiona’s efforts are being widely ignored by the general public because as this video for ‘Change the Record’ proves, she is an engaging artist with the look and the voice to be a major star. Let’s just hope that she fires her team before the release of her next album because they clearly have no clue how to market her talent.
Thanks Hip Hop N More!

Another talented R&B artist with piss poor management. She and other artists need to ditch these so-called management/pr people working for them.
I love her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! “The MF Life” is such a good album. It’s too bad that she is being treated so poorly. I hope they do better with her next album, too!
She needs to fire Roc Nation and get new management because they clearly only think about Rihanna and Rita Ora
Who’s calling their radio station and requesting this song?
N-O-B-O-D-Y.
Bless her heart.
No one is actually buying real R&B Artist, who can sing albums. Bubble Gum Artist are getting more radio airplay.
