Watch: Nicki Minaj Clashes With Mariah Carey In ‘My Truth’ (Episode 2)
Nicki Minaj appears in her ‘Nicki Minaj: My Truth’ show.
When Nicki Minaj verbally assaulted Mariah Carey clashed on the set of ‘American Idol’, their showdown made headlines across the globe. However, in the second episode of ‘Nicki Minaj: My Truth’ the former claimed that the media was blatantly biased against her with their coverage because of one simple reason: racism.
Minaj suggested that Carey instigated their argument and that the legendary singer wanted to be the only female on the ‘American Idol’ panel. “I stormed off the stage because I didn’t want to do that. I left and when I came back,” Minaj maintained. “She admitted that she did not want another female doing the show thinking that somebody was coming to steal her shine.”
Later, Minaj commented that Barbara Walters of ‘The View’ took Carey’s side with her coverage of the event and that she didn’t defend Minaj because she’s “a little black girl who raps”. Naturally, Minaj overlooked the fact that Walters never took any sides in the affair, offered the rapper the chance to explain herself on ‘The View’ and only personally contacted Carey because they have been friends for many years.

Nicki Minaj never said it was because of racism Trent is assuming
“Minaj commented that Barbara Walters of ‘The View’ took Carey’s side with her coverage of the event and that she didn’t defend Minaj because she’s “a little black girl who raps”<————- did you read that or watch the video? she was implying that it was because of racism. She even said if it was Jlo it would be different.
The bitch is milking the situation to promote her flop upcoming album.
Number 1 JLo is Spanish. #2 it doesn’t change the fact that Trent is assuming that what she meant. It could have been she was insinuating she was being peduiuce

The reason why Trent and most people here assumed that it was implied racism was because she said little BLACK girl that raps, the emphasis being on the black. If she had only said a little girl that raps then it would be different.

If she wanted to tell her side of the story, why not just do it on this show since it is her show? This is her platform to tell her side and she did not do so.

She only said that there were passive aggressive comments made and that what we saw was a reaction. But she did not go into detail as to what EXACTLY was said by Mariah that provoked such a reaction. In the rant that she had, she only talked about how she was upset with Barbara for not calling to get her side. This was the perfect time for her to spill the entire tea and she did not.
Now if you heard something that I did not then I would love for you to reply and tell me what her side of the story is because as far as I am concerned, she didn’t say anything.
Oh but according to people in the comments section of this site if she were to do that she was using it as promo or has no respect for Mariah. She just cant win now cant she?
Yeah but regardless of what people have to say, her complaint is that no one asked to hear her side. And this was her opportunity to break the situation down for everyone so that we can have a better understanding of the situation and know her truth, which is the point of the show.
She said what she had to say tho I get it. It’s not like the show was centered around that silly feud anyway.

Actually Mariah is half black. Get your facts right, her father was a black Venezuelan meaning, he was a black man from Venezuelan.

But when people like her run around screaming racism every other day (and this is far from the first time), they trivialize the entire issue perpetuate the stereotype that black people just have a chip on her shoulder.
So, again, fuck her. She was dragged by both white and black media because of the simple fact that she was acting like a trashy piece of shit hoodrat in a working environment. No one is saying Mariah is an angel, and I’m sure she was throwing shade, but she never crosses the line and stays classy.

IF Nicki admired and respected Mariah, which she has admitted several times.
1) WHY go on the show, knowing that Mariah didn’t want you there? Not that Nicki needs Mariah’s permission. But they are friends and have worked together in the past. She could have called Mariah on the phone and asked if it was ok for her to join. The fact that Nicki didn’t, shows that she did wanted to turn this into a competition. Childish attitude
2) Post-fight. IF she truly respected Mariah, why continue the beef on twitter? And why continue to speak about it? Clearly she is trying to use the media attention for her own personal gain and to promote her album.
I’m not trying to put all the blame on Nicki. I honestly believe that Mariah instigated it. But the classy response is to walk away, which Mariah did. Mariah has not talked or addressed the fued since it has happened. 1 month later, and Nicki is still talking about it. GET OVER IT!

1) It’s not Mariah’s show. Mariah didn’t want her on the show for ego/insecurity issues. Mariah is using it as a platform to comeback and she feels the only way that can happen is if she has the spotlight as the only female. Nicki nor Idol needs to cater to her ego.
Nicki is thinking about her own career and expanding her own base. She doesn’t perform on VMAs to try and upstage Rihanna or Perform on the grammy’s to upstage Whitney. Artists have to think about their own career. What don’t you get??? It’s childish for you to think that artist need to have chats with people that have no weight on making decisions. I love mariah and loved her way longer than Nicki but there is no justification for her to be childish like a high schooler and have issues with another female just because she’s there. If Nicki did something to her then yes.
2) Mariah tweeted something and then deleted. She also had Barbra speak on her behalf and took out a full page ad in a newspaper.Even Nicki said that in there meeting they agreed to move on…she responded once those statements came out…it’s called being human.
I hear your point. BOTH sides are wrong but Nicki did get her mission accomplished. Mimi set her up and baited her to act up so that she can use it as a tool to get her off the stage. Nicki let it build until she instilled fear in her and made Mimi so uncomfortable that she is too scared to be herself and take those passive aggressive jabs that she has been taking at her rivals (madonna, xtina, jlo, etc.) for decades. If Nicki talks about it after this then I will not like it. But she used this to clear the air because believe it or not everyone doesn’t have a twitter account but most have a tv and youtube access.

Why is Mariah Carey allowing Nicki to bitch slap her every week. I don’t see anybody mentioning Nicki’s twitter rant about Mariah the next day after the video was revealed. American Idol should be protecting Mariah from this slander. Now, Mariah’s history will always mention this American Idol fiasco and the name Nicki Minaj. Mariah needs to do something to come out the winner. Being nice and gracious to this bitch ain’t working.

This is how I feel about the fight. I don’t know what happened, but the way Nicki handled the situation was unprofessional in a work environment. She should have waited after they were done filming/working to go off like that. We all know Mariah wanted to be the only female but Nicki basically gave into her by acting like a damn fool. Nicki is one walking contradiction. Her music is passive aggressive. One, Mariah didn’t call tmz. Tmz makes up a load of crap. Two Barbara called Mariah, Mariah didn’t call Barbara. Three, sure Mimi wanted to be the only female artist, so that she could give her all to the show. Perhaps the producers blindsided her. Next, of course Nicki isn’t gonna take her shine, you aren’t in her league. Nicki just wanted to try to make a statement, and she failed. Being loud and obnoxious isn’t gonna garner you any good grace. Nicki was just pissed that she couldn’t match someone on the level of an “MC”. She was clearly out classed.
Her ego got a reality check. Lastly, why allow it to even get to that point, why not address her, and say some of the things being thrown around are making this situation uneasy. She was trying to make a statement and she failed miserably. Now, she goes back to that blk girl women thing. That’s typical and lame.
Nicki has a funky attitude, and she acts as if she is more than what she is. She’s use to running things, and she ran into a major road block that is MC.
