Many people wondered if Whitney Houston’s legendary voice would have been inherited by her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, or if it was truly a once in a lifetime gift. Now, after years of speculation, teenager has finally given the world a glimpse of her ability with a cover of Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’.
Bobbi’s timing could not have been more ideal as the song is currently at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Watch her performance below:
Given the fact Bobbi has been a smoker for quite some time and her speaking voice is quite rough, this performance was not as shaky as people may have predicted. There is no question that her vocal ability is glaringly different from her mother’s talent but she did exhibit some glimmers of potential, especially with her subtle vocal runs.
Ironically, as is the case with her looks, Bobbi’s raspy voice actually sounds more like her father, Bobby Brown, than her mother. Whether she can actively pursue a music career is yet to be determined but the it will be interesting to hear what she can do if she was given the right material.

NO!
I was pleasantly surprised. She doesn’t have much of a range, but her tone is clear and pretty.
Why she look like that tho O_O but it sound nice she betta go
Whitney’s voice was truly a gift from god and i didnt expect Bobbi to inherit that voice, but i did expect to hear some similarities but unfortunately Bobbi’s voice is no where near Whitneys in her prime. Bobbi has a nice tone but her voice seems a bit weak and tired. but i assume that if she gets proper vocal lessons she could be better.
Whitney Houston’s voice WAS a gift from God but she sold it to drug dealers and became a crackhead. Adele’s voice is a gift from God, lets just hope she stops selling it to Newport’s or whatever she smokes.
As for Bobbi, it was OK. Not horrible but not amazing. Luckily for her she has time to improve and decide where she wants 2 go musically.
@Britt: Was that commentary necessary? And Whitney STILL slays on good vocal days. I bet you look like Precious you fat lard
she didnt get whitney voice but she does have glimpses of her grandmother Cissy’s voice, her tone is deep/heavy like her grandmothers. she is clearly a smoker because those newports are apparent, but with her mom couldnt tell she smoked cigarettes for years before it affected her voice, bobbi kris u can tell right away
It’s so unfair to compare the child to the mother. NObody will have Whitney’s voice. That is a once in a lifetime thing. Kriss shows promise. This was acappella, unrehearsed. I’m sure she can do even better. Very promising.
She is a beautiful kid. She is a true singer, with a beautiful voice. It has been a long time since I heard real new talent in today’s music industry.
