Justin Bieber has been heralded by many of his peers as the second coming of Michael Jackson but on last night’s episode of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ he demonstrated that he is someone entirely different. In fact, during his medley of ‘Never Say Never’ and ‘Fa La La’ with Boyz II Men, his nasal and monotone voice was the polar opposite of the late King of Pop’s colourful high notes.
‘Fa La La’ is included on Bieber’s ‘Under the Mistletoe’ album, which hit stores yesterday. The LP also includes a cover of ‘The Christmas Song’, on which Usher is featured, and a duet with Mariah Carey on her pervasive classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’.
Watch Bieber and Boyz II Men perform on ‘Dancing’ below:
I honestly do not see the amazing potential that Usher as well as countless other artists claimed to have observed in Bieber. His vocal performances are grossly underwhelming and his dancing is average at best. Truly, Chris Brown and Omarion were far more impressive at Bieber’s age – 17 years old – than he has exhibited thus far.
Perhaps Bieber’s marketing team are simply compiling a list of cosigns from more experienced acts so that he could manipulate the public’s perception of his ability with clever PR. Indeed, If Bieber is the best that this generation has to offer then I fear for our future.
