Did you know that Monica has thus far only achieved 1 #1 album on the Billboard 200?
Monica’s lone chart-topping album was 2003′s ‘After the Storm’. However, the record is not the R&B singer’s biggest seller. That honour is still held by her 1998 triple platinum release, ‘The Boy Is Mine’, which only peaked at #8 on the Billboard 200.
‘The Boy is Mine’ spawned all 3 of Monica’s #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 – the title track, which featured Brandy, ‘Angel of Mine’ and ‘The First Night’. Interestingly, ‘After the Storm’ only produced 1 top 10 hit on the tally - ‘So Gone’ – which peaked at #10 in 2003. Monica has yet to crack to top 10 of the Hot 100 since that time.

Wow, this is super interesting. It’s crazy how the album with 3 #1 singles peaks lower than the one with only one top 10 single.
she can do it if she makes upbeat music. that last album was so boring. she needs to keep up with the current music trends. she doesn’t have to go pop.
The last album was way too slow and boring. Her song is really good but we dont need 10 more tracks like that. She needs to come out her comfort zone.
No surprise ……After the Storm was her BEST album…yea I said it
People are saying she needs to make more upbeat songs, her last album was boring. Her last album was CLASSIC. Monica makes timeless music not ringtone/catchy/disaposable music. When you can sing you dont need to skin off and use gimmicks to sell. Monica might not have 20 number one singles or albums but she will go down as having a great voice. Put her against some these so call “pop icon” that you guys go crazy over and she can out sing them. True talent speaks for itself.
I’m glad she’s at least achieved that cause there are many stars whose albums never reach #1 or #1 on the Hot 100.
