Did you know that Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ chart more consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 than any other album in history?
Despite clocking only 1 week at #1, ‘Dark Side’ logged 741 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 from the weeks of March 17th 1973 to October 1st 1988. The record has been certified 15x platinum in the US as the Rock band’s 2nd highest-selling LP behind 1979′s ‘The Wall’, which was certified 23x platinum.
In the week of March 19th 2012, ‘Dark Side’ registered its 800th week on the Billboard 200. No other album has clocked as many weeks on the chart. In fact, it is the only LP to remain on the chart for more than 500 weeks.
