Christina Aguilera Dodges High Notes At Red Rock Concert

It’s ironic that Christina Aguilera is a judge on ‘The Voice’ because it’s clear that she has almost completely lost hers. The singer hoarsely grunted away through some of her biggest hits at Red Rock in Denver on Friday, avoiding all of her once famous high notes while gasping for air.

It has been painfully obvious for years that Aguilera’s live vocal performances have become more strained but now it seems that she is getting worse. Almost every note sounds rough and constricted as though she is fighting to get them out.
While many won’t admit the obvious, Aguilera needs serious help. Whether she needs a vocal coach, surgery, steroids or the power of three, something has to be done to fix this problem before it is too late.
We all remember how her idol Mariah Carey sounded while singing ‘Touch My Body’ in 2008. Maybe Aguilera should end their feud and ask for some advice because Carey has generally recovered from those disastrous performances.

All in all the performance was good. I’d rather Xtina sing live than lip sync for her life.
Trent you need to stop hating on other females witha voice just because you like Mariah, i stan for Xtina but i still got CD’s by Mariah, Joss Stone, JoJo, Leona etc it’s just preference to you you prefer, no need to be so pressed.
Yes i agree Xtina needs to get some coaching but it was obvious from the Grammy performance she can still hit high notes maybe she just knows that some days she isn’t going to be able to so because she RESPECTS her fans she takes it down a key rather than gettin out that rinsed to fuck whistle tape like Mariah has been doing for the past decade???
Overall she did really well, “Imagine” and “Beautiful” were amazing, “Lady Marmalade” was really good too, she seems to do better when she can just stand and SING like a real singer than when she has to be running around the stage, either way i don’t know why you’re always quick to slate Xtina when Mariah has been Queen of mime for how long???
I agree she sounded off when in the high notes. There’s nothing wrong in embracing the idea of having a vocal coach -she’s actually one on the voice!- because that would certainly help her.
Her fans shouldn’t get mad, just listen to the bridge on Beautiful and you can tell she did wrong.
Props to her for singing live though.

I’m severely disappointed. How can she not hit the super long note at the end of Candyman?!?! That’s the best part of the song! What a gyp.
Completely agree with you,she certainly sounded off.And I feel sad because I have always been a huge fan of her as a vocalist,if not so much as a person.I terribly wish she’ll get it all fixed.And to the stupid fans,can you just stop being unbelievably delusional?We’re talking about the present state of her vocal abilities,why the fuck would you bring up her album sales and rankings?Stfu.
Trent why do you have to be so critical? Of course every singer’s voice changes with age. She just needs to change her live performances up so that it fits the current state her voice is in. I felt that the notes she hit in Beautiful and ANOM were fantastic. Better than Mariah Carey’s pre-recorded vocals and whistles.

Don’t add Mariah into this idiots, her has been phenomenal.
Yes, her voice has declined but Trent you also have to account for her gasping for air due to the altitude of Denver. The o2 levels are much lower than at regular altitude so her o2 intake wouldn’t have been at normal levels hence the overly gasping for air.
I was never a fan of Christina, but its obvious her voice is in deep need of some rest or coaching.
I love this Xtina girl. She has a pipes & special voice, although not all people would satisfied by it. but I liked it. I hope she does tour again.
Poor girl! She is obviously losing her voice at a VERY rapid pace due to years of straining and improper technique. She keeps this up, she WILL end up lipsynching for the rest of what’s left of her singing career!
