Mary J. Blige explained the concept of her ’25/8′ video in a special behind the scenes look at the clip last week and now the full Diane Martel production has been released. The track is the lead single from the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul’s upcoming ‘My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1)’ album, which will debut on November 21st.
Yesterday it was announced that Blige will be appearing alongside Jessie J, Jennifer Hudson and others at the ‘Vh1 Divas Celebrates Soul’ concert on December 19th. She will also perform at the 2011 American Music Awards to promote ‘My Life II’ just one day before the record is released.
Watch the ’25/8′ video below:
It was difficult to discern exactly how this video related to the lyrics of the song. In fact, other than the military dance sequence that could somehow symbolise the fight for love, nothing else about the scenes had anything to do with the concept that Blige previously explained.
However, those points are irrelevant because the anticipation for Blige’s ‘My Life II’ is at a new peak following the premiere of the second single, ‘Mr. Wrong (Ft. Drake)’, and ‘Why (Ft. Rick Ross)’. Indeed, Blige has ample content left on this album to ensure that it is a success, especially her still unheard duet with Beyonce.
LOVE IT !!!
I don’t think that the Beyonce feature realy changes the success – or not of this album, Mary always does well and her name only, creates anticipation
I love it. The Queen!
I really hyped about this album. The material she has been serving up is pretty good
i hope she goes to No.1
Video should have been better. Lazy concept. Oh Well, the song makes up for it.
that video does not look even a bit of “Hype Williams” quality, its boring, cheap and tacky, the wardrobe, choreography attempt, i know she aint no Janet Jackson or Beyonce but she coulda put a little bit of effort… and lastly the song… it sounds like she’s attempting a different sound to her voice but its not working… Mary J i know u rushing to bring your album out for the christmas season bonus etc but u should have taken some time with it.
by the positive feedback of this poll- your review lacks substance and your credibility is shot. @Stoney- Brie– Mary is in a class to herself. Don’t compare her to Janet or Beyonce- who have 70% pop in their music. Mary is R/B at 40 if you can’t handle that …step the f***k down!!!
Fail. sorry
this is an ultimate F for FAIL…
