Chris Brown Enlists will.i.am For New Single

Although Chris Brown’s ‘Strip (Ft. Kevin McCall)’ continued to gain momentum on radio stations this week, the versatile entertainer has refused to rest on his laurels. In fact, it has been revealed that he already has a new single prepared for release later this month and it will feature none other than hit-maker will.i.am.

‘One of those Nights’ has been announced as the second official single from Brown’s upcoming ‘Fortune’ album, which will hit stores in March. Featuring Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am, the track will impact Top 40/Mainstream radio on January 31st.

Thus far, ‘Strip’ has peaked at #85 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #27 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The tune has been steadily gaining airplay on both the Rhythmic and Urban radio formats where it is currently ranked at #22 and #15, respectively.

Hopefully, ‘One of those Nights’ does not sound similar to every other will.i.am record that has been released in the last three years – thick auto-tune, heavy bass and a pointless verse from will.i.am that includes his digitised voice. Brown is very talented but will.i.am is horribly formulaic and would happily continue to recreate the Black Eyed Peas’ ‘The E.N.D.’ album for the next five years if given the chance.

   Agreed. William might have given chris the idea to overuse autotune AGAIN. Chris needs to work with people who will tell him that he doesn’t need it at all.

   Stille excited though, this record has to be amazing! chris needs it

   I cant wait!! It will be an amazing single, cuz I already heard some songs of #willpower, and those songs are soo cool!! <3 it!

   Its true that will used autotune very much.. I think its stupid, only love it when he works with it @ some BEPsongs would happily continue to recreate the Black Eyed Peas’ ‘The E.N.D.’ album for the next five years if given the chance. The Beginning is very different from the E.N.D., and they change their style every 2 albums, so there will come another style of music by the Peas in about 2 years (they are having a break now, cuz Ferg wanna get a baby and Tab wanna spend time with his family).

   The only way that the song will be different from other Will.i.am’s songs is if Chris pushes him to do different. I hope Chris didn’t settle for Will.i.am’s redundancy.

    But I gotta say Chris Brown fans are I’ve noticed his biggest detractors lately. Before you even hear the song you already hate it.

    He does an urban song – you are mad because you needs a pop hit.

    The next single is clearly pop, and you hate it because of Will I Am’s feature. Sigh.

    Why not just join Jason Derulo’s fanclub. You criticize Chris as much as Jason Derulo fans do……well the few fans he has.

    He’s talented. He always manages to make his good albums. Did you forget how fun his last album was? Stop expecting the worse just because Will I Am is on the song.
