Mariah Carey Discusses 2012 BET Honors

The 2012 BET Honors were filmed last week and as we inch closer to the February 13th premiere of the show, BET continues to provide special footage to help build viewers’ anticipation. One such clip was an interview with honoree Mariah Carey who discussed what it meant to receive the Entertainer Award at the ceremony and how she plans to procede in her musical journey.

Carey was celebrated at the BET Honors by Kelly Rowland, LA Reid, Raekwon and Patti LaBelle for her tremendous contributions to the entertainment industry. Other honorees included Stevie Wonder, Maya Angelou and Spike Lee, all of whom were greeted by US First Lady Michelle Obama.

   More than 22 years in the game, many multi- platinum albums, and she still seemed so humble, and grateful for her success. I met her a couple years ago in Manhattan, and nervously asked for an autograph. She was so sweet about it, even took a pic with me and my friends.

   I loved this video.
   She’s being honest, remembering the things that inspire her to sing and being thankful with those who encouraged her to grow up as an artist.
   This side of MC is way different to the diva she tries to portray at times and personally I rather to see more of the first one; even her au naturel make up is better.
   For a moment I thought I was seeing a clip from her early years, hope her next material gives me a similar vibe like this

   Mariah sounds so introspective, humble and frankly honest which make me even more anxious for her new music ! Sounds like she may come from a deeper place this time
