Did you know that Whoopi Goldberg is the only African American entertainer to win an Emmy Award, Grammy Award, Academy Award and Tony Award?

Goldberg has won an Academy Award – commonly known as an Oscar – two Daytime Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Recording and a Tony Award. She is one of only thirteen entertainers to have won all four honors – an EGOT – and one of just ten performers who achieved the honors in the competitive fields.

Known primarily for her iconic acting roles in films such as ‘The Color Purple’ and ‘Ghost’, for which she won her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 1990, Goldberg is also a talented singer. Of course, she displayed her musical ability in the 1992 film ‘Sister Act’.

   I remember when a “certain” entertainer said she wanted to be the first black woman to win a Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. I guess she didn’t know Whoopi already been there, done that.

   Let’s not forget Whoopi’s Golden Globe!!!

   Maybe Beyonce said this in 2002, because Whoopi won her 1st “Daytime” Emmy that year. But still, The Queen has a very long way to go.

   The next EGOT will probably be Kate Winslet. She’s only missing a Tony.

   This is not a commonly know fact. Many people don’t know what Whoopi was the first. Hell, I didn’t know until she mentioned her awards on the view last year. Don’t use this as an excuse to shade Beyonce.

   OMD when i was a kid i was so obsessed with “Sister Act” lmao she was in so many amazing films, i wish she was in more these days. Also yeah she also has a Golden Globe and a BAFTA.

   Whoopi is soo accomplished but very underated because she doesnt meet hollywoods standards of beauty. Such a shame

   Nobody mentioned an Emmy. A “certain” entertainer said Grammy, Oscar, Tony, and was saying it well into 2003. So, somebody didn’t get the member yet!

   If Beyonce got a Oscar, something is REALLY wrong with the film world because she is arguably 1 of the worst actresses ever, I mean she cant even show emotion when she gives interviews or speeches, the chick is bland as hell.
