As Melanie Fiona’s ’4 Am’ continues to garner major airplay increases on Urban radio, the singer has teamed with producer Rico Love for the song’s official remix. The song features none other than Dancehall music’s version of Rihanna, Sean Paul, and is the latest offering from Fiona’s ‘The MF Life’, which is set for a May 8th release.
The last time we heard any new material from Fiona was with the song ‘Wrong Side of a Love Song’. There is no word regarding of that track will be issued as an official single within the coming weeks.
Listen to Fiona’s ’4 AM (Remix)’ below:
This version of ’4 Am’ is even better than the original and should have been released as the standard single! The Dance-ready beat has a similar appeal to Drake and Rihanna’s ‘Take Care’, which became a runaway hit without any promotion, so just imagine how this remix could have boosted Fiona’s career.
Wondering why I referred to Paul as Dancehall’s Rihanna? He has not shown any artistic growth, he readily hops on trends, his hair is more interesting than his singing and his talent has been grossly exaggerated by people beyond the West Indies because they don’t know any better.
Thanks Rap-Up!
I like the regular version better. Tired of dance music
Im feeling this song!! Melanie needs to send this in the UK/Europe
Although this is extremely jamming, I think that the new beat actually lessens the value of the lyrics. The original had a certain vibe and meaning that didn’t transfer over to this version.
Sean Paul is mainstream, leave him alone.
I would have liked is she re-did the vocals specifically for this version …
i LOOOOVED that break down before Sean’s part!
