With the release of her new single, ‘Elephant’, set for March 11th, Alexandra Burke has kicked her promotional efforts into high gear. The singer appeared on ‘Let’s Dance for Sports Relief’ earlier today and used the opportunity to perform the tune for the frist time on television.
Yet, Burke didn’t deliver the high energy movement that the Dance-themed ‘Elephant’ demanded. Instead, she strolled around the stage and flicked her ponytail while she relied on her dancers and backing track to handle the bulk of the work.
Watch Burke’s performance of ‘Elephant’ below:
So, at which point in this performance were we supposed to be amazed or entertained? Was Burke’s ponytail flipping at the end – inspired by Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’ performance at the 2008 American Music Awards – meant to make us excited? If that’s the case then wow, I’m so blown away.

Trent, ur spot on! That was average at best. Come on Alex, iam a big fan of u and u have massive potential but ur not showing it this time round. I dislike the song. I dislike the video and i this performance was meeh.
Fingers crossed her second single is better cause iam getting annoyed. She didnt release any singles in 2011 and now this? Get it together please.
Trent that was bitchy. Granted it wasn’t her best performance but after over a year away, i think that was pretty decent.
P.s. how come you didn’t post her acoustic session??
3 gold stars for the Helga gif.
I understand that dance pop in where the money is at this moment but that does not mean that everyone should do it. It’s clear that she is uncomfortable doing this type of song. I hope that her next single fits her better.
This is very 80s dance to me, which I love. Heck I even like the song, but think it could have been something more powerful!!
Give it rest Trent you are getting boring and predictable. Alex gave a really good performance and did the right amount of dancing. She was singing live and did an amazing job.Stop witht he bitterness and hate.
Elephant feat. Erick Morillo (Harry Romero & Jose Nunez Remix)>>>>> Album version. That’s all I have to say
it wasn’t bad at all, but she should of come harder.
He (understandably) didn’t post her amazing acoustic version because it was done by That Grape Juice.
But still, this wasn’t a bad performance at all. The amount of dancing she did in it was fine considering she (unlike Beyonce or whoever) has always made an effort to sing all the notes rather than blending in backing track. The problem was the actual choreography.
But Trent clearly just doesn’t like her, so will continue to unfairly shade her. So much for being objective.
And also, she was clearly touching her ponytail because her ear monitor wasn’t working and when she pulled it out, it got tangled up in her hair. Stop making shit up.
