Remember when Ciara performed her new single, ‘Got Me Good’, on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ for the first time on October 25th? Like the rest of the world, you probably forgot about the song so here is a pleasant reminder of that showing via newly released official footage.
‘Got Me Good’ has failed to crack the top 10 of the iTunes chart since being released via the retailer November 6th. The song officially impacted Top 40/Mainstream radio on December 4th and is currently ranked at a lowly #50 on Rhythmic radio (it was issued to that format on November 13th). Additionally, it has yet to enter the Billboard Hot 100.

So, what exactly happened to ‘Got Me Good’? The reasons for the slow start of the song are clear: the record is garbage and its promotion was poor. It is almost impossible for a song without a catchy hook to chart today and the only memorable line in ‘Good Me Good’ is “my back is aching, my bra too tight” in the intro.
Also, beyond her ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ performance of ‘Got Me Good’, Ciara has yet to plug the song at another major event. Does she expect this record to take off on radio based on the power of her name alone? Sorry Ciara (no pun intended), but this is 2012 and even Tamar Braxton has more buzz for her music than you.
Yet, all is not lost. There is still a remote chance for ‘Got Me Good’ to become a hit if Ciara promotes it with a few live shows as well as via social media, instead of only sharing Instragram pictures of her shoes, hair and dogs. If not then she better call one of her cousins to come pick her up outside the Epic Records building because her days as a signed artist will be numbered.
