Melanie Fiona plays the role of a scorned lover on a new song entitled ’4 AM’. Crafted by Rico Love, the record will reportedly appear on her upcoming ‘The MF Life’ LP.

This is definitely a new direction for Fiona. However, the added auto-tune weakened the arrangement and something something about the record sounds incomplete.
Perhaps if she would have experimented with her lower registers it would have taken the final product to another level. In fact, a singer like Brandy, for whom this track sounds like demo, would have been excellent performing this.
Still, it is unlikely that this is the final version of ’4 AM’. Although his work is rarely groundbreaking, Rico Love is known for much cleaner productions.

i love the beat & the verses. i’m not too fond of the chorus

This does sound like a Brandy track….she would have killed this track. People sleep on Brandy as a vocalist, Melanie sounds good and all but B would have murked this track.
