After years of critics’ constant comparisons between her and Lady Gaga, Madonna has finally broken her silence regarding the issue. However, the icon, who is currently preparing a new album, did little to assuage the situation. Instead, she blasted Gaga by saying that the ‘Bad Romance’ singer has an “obsession” with her.
Read what Madonna had to say below:
The ‘Like A Prayer’ hitmaker told Le Soir: “As for Lady GaGa, I have no comment to make about her obsessions having to do with me because I don’t know whether her behavior is rooted in something deep and meaningful, or superficial.”
Ouch! Madonna’s representative later seemed to play down the legend slamming Lady G, telling E! News: “I do know that [Madonna] has said many supportive things about GaGa over the years.”

Madonna has been known for being involved in several feuds over the last 30 years – for instance, with Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey – but this has to be the most shocking showdown that she has started in quite some time! As she is known as an outspoken advocate of Gaga’s work, her comments have little explanation beyond the fact that she probably was not amused by the striking similarities between Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ and her own ‘Express Yourself’.
Nonetheless, the viability of such a feud may not be in Madonna’s best interest. Regardless of her legendary status, she has been away from the music scene for over 3 years and Gaga has been dominating her market. Hence, like Christina Aguilera, Madonna may find herself facing a backlash from the younger generation as well as several people who were once her own fans.
The ramifications of this situation are going to be quite a spectacle!

MADONNA IS A ICON BUT THIS IS SOOOOO CHILDISH OF HER , LIKE GROW THE EFF UP U OLD WRINKLY BEECH!!!! >_<
lol @ the gif
Dead at that gif!!!
I like both and these comments could probably mean that…
a) Madonna is sick and tired of being compared to Gaga or
b) She’s doing what she knows best: controversy
It’s curious that just a few months ago Madonna was being the nicest by expressing her appreciation towards Gaga, suddenly she’s having an album dropped next year and calls her “obsessed”.
Yes bitches, Madonna’s back.
Why would she do that tho?! You have this girl that’s views you as her idol and the further she climbs, she’s bring u up with her, by giving u credit for things that she does that’s inspired by u, and u go and bash her! This is just like Nicki Minaj and lil Kim, I dont’ understand why lil Kim and Madonna can see how these young women have open the doors for them to shine again, and be relevant again! This is not good for madonna.
Wow! I never thought I’d hear that.
Gaga is so superficial.
I don’t believe it. I do agree with it though, tehe.
Noooooo Madonna, dont go the Lil Kim route!! Even though i agree, there is know way she will look good by saying it. Just grin and and deal with it girl.
Messy!

Madonna is a ducking legend. She’s said worse and done worse. She will continue to make 400 mill on tour. All of these bitches is her sons. Trent you are so fucking stupid.
I have said this before, Madonna should have just kept quiet because Gaga’s fans are delusional and most do not even listen to her music they just like Gaga because they think it’s the gay thing to do, they think she is out there defending her and fighting for their freedom, which she us NOT by the way but they do it anyway! This should be interesting because Christina was never on Madonna’s level, she was not exactly whorshipped by the gays like Madonna, Cher or Beyonce, so she miscalculated when she for some reason thought she would be supported; but Madonna is the original mother monster so Gaga is like her daughta lol let’s see if the little monsters will pay homage, know about their history, and respect their grandmother! But knowing today’s generation, I highly doubt that!
Actually Madonna never said anything bad about Gaga. There’s more to the interview than what’s posted here. She was going on to say that she won’t comment on Gaga being obsessed or not because the industry is very black and white and her words will get twisted. In a way she was sort of protecting Gaga.
The difference between Madonna and Lil Kim is that Nicki Minaj has been hating on Kim ever since 2004, where she would diss her continuously for years and then Kim finally snapped and schooled Nicki while Madonna simply doesn’t like others being compared to her and others taking credit for something she popularised.
1. Madonna didn’t start this “feud” (not that there even is one) Gaga started it by basing her whole career on idea’s/music she jacked from Madonna…
I don’t see how somebody saying Gaga is obsessed with her (when she clearly is) is more shocking than her old (actual) feuds…
2. Madonna has been away for 3 years?! WOW her tour burried Gaga’s, It was the most successful tour by a solo artist EVER, Gaga could never no matter how many years she drags the same tour out for.
3. The music industry is not “Dominated” by Gaga, the tabloids and blogs are, Gaga’s album saes have been sliding ever since her first album which is why she had to do that dumb 99 cents Amazon deal to try and make it look like se hit a million first week, actually without the 99 cents deal she hit just 600k.
I think you’re forgetting that “Confessions on a dancefloor” was a huge critical and commercial hit which sold like 12,000,000 copies which is more than “The Fame” did.
Madonna doesn’t have anything to worry about, Sow what if she alienates Gaga stans, they probably never bought a Madonna album anyway lmao
[...] once claimed that Lady Gaga “obsessed” with her and the latter’s ‘Marry the Night’ video will probably prove her point. [...]
