New Song: Justin Bieber & Mariah Carey – ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’

Mariah Carey shocked both her supporters and critics when she announced that she would appear on Justin Bieber’s ‘Under the Mistletoe’ album. Now, just hours after the release of a preview of their duet on the diva’s classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, the song has surfaced in it’s entirety.
‘Under the Mistletoe’ will also include appearances from Boyz II Men, Busta Rhymes and Usher, who worked with Bieber on a cover of ‘The Christmas Song’. Listen to ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ below:
Basically, this version song is the identical to the ‘Extra Festive’ edition of the track included on Carey’s ‘Merry Christmas II You’ with additional ad libs at the start, a verse from Bieber and whistle register flourishes at the end. Unfortunately, Bieber did nothing to improve and it was adulterated by his flat attempts at executing vocal runs.
However, what this track provided was something very important -the first glimpse of Carey’s post-pregnancy voice. Her multifaceted tone sounded rich and exuberant as she employed the jazzier approach to her singing in the opening ad libs.
It seems that Carey has truly been inspired by her duet with Tony Bennett to use a more ad hoc style of singing. Hopefully, she will continue this trend in her live performances, avoid lip-syncing and show the auto-tuned Pop stars of today’s generation what a real diva can do!

So I really like this. I was afraid that it was going to sound like crap but they really do sound nice together. Trent is right about MC’s tone. It’s sounds sweeter, richer and jazzier. Mariah should be back in top top form this era! I think she is in a much happier place now. Like trent said, I want her ass to stop lip-synching and gain the confidence that she once had to go for her notes live again. We miss that Mariah.

Mariah sounds so nice. Justin sounds like he spent hours in some desert and his people forced him to go into the studio without giving him some water or something first.

First off, I LOVE Mariah. Second, I hate Justin Bieber, what is with this autotune crap? I am really hoping for this same song because it is slightly different at the beginning and end, without that dweeb. Is his voice changing? Is that why they are using autotune? Hey, I was timid to listen to this version, of Justin and Mariah, but, it really is a bit of a mess. Mariah’s original version is much more professional and great sounding.
They both sound a hot autotuned mess! If this is an indication of Mariah’s voice, then it has gotten no better. She may want to stick to lipsynching and studio trickery
