Last month, reports surfaced that Mariah Carey had enlisted Randy Jackson to take the reigns of her career as her new manager and now the diva herself has confirmed the news. Indeed, during an interview with Matty & Maude on Australia’s ‘Hot 30 Countdown’, Carey noted that Jackson has joined her management team.
So what has Jackson accomplished thus far to help Carey elevate her career? He played an integral part in facilitating her recent duet with Justin Bieber on the remake of her ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ Holiday classic.
Listen to Carey confirm Jackson as a member of her management team on the ‘Hot 30 Countdown’ below (at the 3:19 mark):
Hopefully, Carey and Jackson have already started developing a structure for her 2012 album campaign because she will have a lot of competition on the charts next year. Interestingly, there is another duet in particular that could have a tremendous impact on Carey’s project – a song with Leona Lewis.
Yes, Lewis is not the most exciting entertainer in the world but she is an amazing vocalist and one of the few who could sing with Carey without being completely embarrassed. Really, both women could possibly push each to deliver a tremendous performance.
Also, with Lewis’ ‘Glassheart’ album delayed until March 26th and Carey’s LP supposedly due early next year, a duet involving both acts woud be brilliant cross-promotion for their respective projects. After all, the media would surely enjoy promoting the comparisons between Lewis and her idol.

trent, can you say “wishful thinking”?!
he should be good for her, esp since hes helped her out a lot. hope she’ll do more duets ! leona lewis would be great
He was the one who paired her up with Bieber and Uncle Murda or whatever his name is, I say he’s going to take her career down the drain as with her previous flops. Randy will make even more irrelevant
