Did you know that Janet Jackson was nominated for an Academy Award in 1994?
Jackson’s ‘Again’ from the ‘Poetic Justice’ film was nominated for the Best Original Song Academy Award in 1994. However, the song, which was co-written by Jackson, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, lost the honor to Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Streets of Philadelphia’.
‘Again’ was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song in 1994 but it lost to Springsteen’s ‘Streets’ in that field as well. The song did top the Billboard Hot 100, though, as Jackson’s 7th #1 single on the chart.
