Nicki Minaj Readies New Single

Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ project got off to a rough when neither of her “buzz” singles gained momentum at radio or digital retailers. However, the rapper has been reenergised following her performance with Madonna at Super Bowl XLVI and she is ready to release a new single.

‘Starships’ will exclusively premiere via ‘On Air with Ryan Seacrest’ on February 13th as the new single from ‘Roman Reloaded’, which has been bumped to an April 3rd release date. Minaj will also perform another new song, entitled ‘Roman Holiday’ on February 12th at the 2012 Grammy Awards.

Minaj isn’t the only performer scheduled to hit the stage at this year’s Grammy show. Chris Brown has been confirmed as one of the entertainers and he has joined a lineup that includes Rihanna, Coldplay, Adele, Katy Perry, the Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift.

   She really needs to take a page from Missy Elliott because lately her music has being lacking. You can still be a fierce MC without syruping out your flow. Mainstream is not EveryThing she needs to remember her core audience. Its not hard to balance. She can have the best of both audience.

   All Nicki needs to do is go in the studio and make a song that actually means something. She can go so far but the only obstacle in her way is herself.

   I’m rooting for Nicki, but honestly when she released Stupid Hoe as a single, I’m not sure I can take her seriously anymore. She’s trying too hard.
