Keke Palmer is back on the music scene with a new look and a new video. ‘You Got Me’ features rapper Kevin McCall and is the lead offering from Palmer’s upcoming EP, which is scheduled to be released by the end of the summer.
Also high on the list of Palmer’s upcoming ventures beyond her numerous acting gigs is her debut studio album. The LP will be released at the end of 2012. Forget all that chat, though, and watch her ‘You Got Me’ video below:
I’m baffled that Palmer chose to put forward such a weak video when ‘You Got Me’ actually has the potential to be a hit. The production of the song is reminiscent of the 2003-2005 era of R&B and it could easily standout on radio today. However, the excitement for its success was killed the moment Palmer decided to dance around backstage at the Apollo Theatre.
Hopefully, Palmer has better ideas for her studio album’s promotion. I know it’s a recession but her talent and material deserves to be showcased in the best possible way. In other words, no Walmart specials.

I agree thr song is good, but the video is not, and it’s not her debut album, it would be her sophmore!
This is for her mixtape, not an EP. She’s on her own & no longer with Interscope Records so you gotta respect that.
The song is hot. not feeling the video though
Why Keke? Why? What was that budget set about?
Get it KeKe P! Song is hawt! Vid does seem a bit awkward, but it’s all good. She has lots of room to go, so I’m super excited about her future.
The song is cute, the video looks like she had to sneak back into Nickelodeon studios after hours and rush to put something together to avoid a budget lol
I adore little Akeelah though, and I want her to win. But she has to do better, especially since people tend not to take child stars like her seriously in their adult ventures.
She can definitely sing. But the video girl? Lol it’s like nickelodeon and disney channel produced this and friend to be sexy… Awww but she does have talent
If she ain’t got a label.. why yall hatin omg. Obviously she aint gon have rihanna budgets for the videos dammn.
Great song, terrible video. She could’ve done a lot more to make this $30 video look like a $300k video.
